On being compared to Michael Phelps: “I get that question a lot, ‘Are you a female version of Michael Phelps,’ and that is a huge compliment and an honor. At the same time I’ve been doing this since I can remember. I started on my club team when I was ten years old, and you didn’t do just one event, like the 100 or 200 breaststroke. We were always doing every event, so ever since I can remember I’ve always had a lot of events on my plate. I think I’m an individual swimmer. I don’t try to follow anybody’s footsteps. I just kind of do what works for me.”
